The chirality is widely present in nature, such as human hands, molecular structures, biological spirals and even macroscopic vortices. When the chirality appears in a quantum many-body system such as the atomic nucleus, its meaning leaps from intrinsic chirality to the spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking. In this talk, the concepts of chirality and quantum chirality are explained. Recent progresses are briefly reviewed. The microscopic description of the nuclear quantum chirality without any parameters beyond the well-defined relativistic density functional theory in 3D lattice as well as its time-dependent and cranking visions are introduced.
